How to create an image from a drive using symantec ghost 11

Hello, i just started a entry level IT help desk job. Its a small company of 300 people and sometime when we get new hires we need imaging a new laptop for them with same software. Right now we are using Symantec ghost 11.5. Im only image 1 computer at a time. No need multiple deploy. imaging through a switch with just Ethernet two pc connected. An usb stichồng for the receiving over. Its a OK software. Its 2018 i want a faster imaging software that can support window 7 và window 10 32bit and 64bit & able to lớn support 2.0 and 3.0 usb drivers không lấy phí or paid software but no Subscription software. Right now it takes about 1hr or for window 7 64bit imaging. Is there something out there easy khổng lồ use with faster imaging? Reliable? thanks!

I shall assume that you vì known the the Windows licensing requirements with regards to cloning of Win7 & Win10 Enterprise Editions.

Norton Ghost is one of the fastest imaging software.....speed of imaging is largely dependent on the host write speeds & the data size of the original machine.

Host write speedSadly nothing can help increase speeds of SATA HDD write speedsreduce data form size of original machineBefore creating image : clear Windows temp files, clear user temp files, reduce paging file sizeThis is NOT reducing image form size or compressing image kích thước which will increase time as need khổng lồ uncompress image size when cloning.

Just for a point of reference. I use FOG, và I can go from bare metal to a 20GB fat image, Win7 image ready for the desktop in under 15 minutes. I have sầu deploy rates lớn a Dell e7250 in the area of 6.1GB/min và to a 7280 with an nvme disk around 9GB/min. Under stand the deployment rates are how fast the target computer can receive the image from the FOG hệ thống and expand it to lớn the disk. If we deploy using multicast we can deploy Win7 khổng lồ 30 system in about 22 minutes.

There"s a bit more khổng lồ it than just fast deployments. You need lớn decide if you will create a universal image (one for all) or a hardware specific image. How many apps will you pre load inlớn the reference image vs post load (post deployment). How will you manage post post deployment applications? In our case we use a hybrid system where we use MDT khổng lồ create a consistent reference image và then mass deploy with FOG.

In your case I think you need to define your requirements a bit more beyond just a fast deployment. Like will you deploy only windows OS or are you looking at additional operating systems lượt thích Chromium OS, BSD, or Linux?
